New rules:
1) To receive magazines from this thread, you must have MA displayed as your state; 2) You must have at least 50 posts; 3) You must post a pic of the magazines on receipt; 4) This is not a For Sale, Want To Buy, or Swap thread. Take that to the EE. Do you have pre-ban (pre 13 September 1994) mags? Massachusetts is the last state behind enemy lines that allows pre-ban mags to be shipped into the state. All pre-ban mags are at least 26 years old at this point. AR, AK, Glock, anything over 10 rounds and pre-ban. If you have pre-ban mags and would like to GIVE them to a Massachusetts ARFCOMer, this is your thread. If you want to SELL them, go post em up in the EE. Massachusetts members should have MA displayed w/ their username to participate. Striker approved, so you can post up pics of your old mags, and Massachusetts ARFCOMers can post up they're interested. I expect a lot of Massachusetts ARFCOMers have plenty of pre-ban mags, but they have noob friends that are lacking. Massachusetts ARFCOMers will put these mags to good use. If your mags say Law Enforcement/Gov't Use Only - those are not pre-ban mags. Do not ship those to Massachusetts. Striker has approved this crazy scheme. Below is my original post: Found an old Orlite magazine at the gun show today, and took some pics before it goes in the mail. It doesn't fully drop free, but does activate the LRBHO. Attached File Attached File Attached File Inside, you can see the internal track the follower rides on - an early attempt at a constant-level follower: Attached File 1st Massachusetts member w/ MA displayed w/ their username that wants it post up, don't IM me. Free gift to the Commonwealth from Texas. Not for sale, only shipping to a Massachusetts address. @Striker - was just giving away one mag, looks like there are other folks interested. Can we turn this into a pre-ban mag dump to Massachusetts? ETA: Dogecoins taking it. Pics of it in the birthplace of American Liberty page 3. |

Been waiting for another ma member to post, I have plenty, thank you op for a great gesture from the great state of tx.
Nice gesture, op.
I'm impressed you went to a gun show... they are all cancelled here. |
Arfcom is the best dysfunctional family ever.
Won't ever forget what everybody did for CA members during freedom week. |
I have several old Orlites to give away... what's the deal with them and MA? I haven't been paying attention.
So my several 1988 Sanchez magazines in wrappers are OK to somebody ?
Was it cleaned in the dishwasher? I remember that big Orlite buy for ban staters back then and one said they can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: I have several old Orlites to give away... what's the deal with them and MA? I haven't been paying attention. Massachusetts is the last state behind enemy lines that can still receive pre-ban mags. AFAIK, all Orlites are pre-94 and can be shipped direct. Quoted: Was it cleaned in the dishwasher? I remember that big Orlite buy for ban staters back then and one said they can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Dunno. Doesn't look sparkly clean. Quoted: So my several 1988 Sanchez magazines in wrappers are OK to somebody? Yes - any AR/AK/Glock/etc mag made before September 1994 is eligible to be shipped to and sold within Massachusetts. Pre-ban lowers (pre September 1994) lowers can be sold in Massachusetts and Connecticut. |
Quoted: Thanks for thinking of us stuck behind the line. View Quote I was thinking of who I could stick a 25 year old Orlite mag w/. Seriously, I realize ARFCOM's Yankee millionaires don't need an Orlite mag, but surely you have an apprentice who just bought his first AR and needs mags. ETA: Dogecoins has an apprentice. |
I'd like to give mine away, just don't want a leftist or someone who is going to flip them to get them. I'll go see how many I have... I think around 10.

Arfcom has awesome people. I grabbed two mags from backbencher a few months ago, rebuilt them and gave them to a friend and new shooter.
Good man OP. Sucks that the good Patriots in MA can only posses preban 30 round mags.
I wouldn't own any that aren't stamped internally or externally in that commie state. |
The 3 I have the dust lip at the mag well, has been removed. I can’t verify function. Or they are in fact pre 1994. But I would gift them to a brother in a ban state.

I may go to the Ma. hometown to see where I can send a few of those NIW 1988 Sanchez magazines to.
Supposedly they had a problem with those on full auto but work 100% for normal shooting. (black followers) The plastic wrap is dated 6/88 I think I may have one Orlite and a Cooper never inserted. Recalling that Cooper lost the military contract with bad QC, this one looks good. |
Here here are the 3 I have. I'm happy to send out. One has a small piece missing from the rear feed lip area as seen in pic. I can't speak to functionality as I haven't used them in 15 years. Can we get this organized?

So people in MA can own Orlite mags? I have one somewhere, but I thought they had a tendency to come apart and make cartridge fountains.
If they can be owned there and mailed, I can donate it to the cause. Attached File |

What is the circle with the numbers at the bottom? Is that a date stamp?

Did not know this was a thing. I currently own one 40 round, one 20 round, and one 30 round Mini-14 mags that I bought with the rifle in 1993, though they have no markings that I know of, along with some 30 round metal AK mags from early 1994, though again no markings I am aware of. Any use for any of those?
ETA: My first AR, bought right after the ban as a preban, was recalled by the gun store that sold it to me when ATF caught 'em lying and assembling preban configuration rifles from post-ban lowers. I didn't buy another one until September of 2004, so no preban AR mags in my collection. |
I think the spineless Chinese AK mags I have would be preban and perhaps the non clamshell eastern European 75 round drum that you load from the top too ?
Out of a few dozen USGI M-14 magazines, I know most are preban, one I had since 1967. God am I old or what ? |

Still pending Striker's approval. This is a GIFT thread, not a FOR SALE thread. You want to sell mags, do it in the EE. |

I gave the last of my NIW preban AR mags to a Massachusetts member about a year ago.
Masshole here, would love to buy some pre-ban USGI's in good shape for a reasonable price.
I have some old Colt Mags that came with my pre-ban SP1, but how can I tell if they are pre-ban for sure?
Quoted: I have 100 or more preban GI mags. I was going to donate them to the American Pioneer Corps for use as training magazines. Would there be interest in folks pledging the value of a replacement mag to APC and I dump them all to Massachusetts folk instead? View Quote You'll need to do that in the EE. Striker's let me do donation threads in the past, but I don't think that would fly in GD. |

@ryan556
hes a friend of mine and i know he could probably use some 30rd mags. |

I'm surprised that so many don't realize that mass residents still are under a lot of the pre/post (94) ban, and we can not have suppressors by state law, also we have a state AG that rules by whatever she decides the law is, we still get a lot of stuff but it is very difficult at times, again thank you all

> I have plenty of magazines, do not need the ones being offered here <
Just want to say that it is very cool that OP and others here still want to help Americans trapped behind enemy lines. Thank you all! |

Well, being that I was actively shooting Mini-14s and AR-15s during the AWB. The majority of my magazines are Pre-Ban.
I tried to sell all of my pre-ban mags when I left MA in 2013. I couldn't get anyone to buy one and I was selling them at a reasonable price which was weird. Hopefully this will benefit someone there!
