LE  Price $1,600.00  (Safe-Semi-Full)

The HK MP7 and the 4.6 x 30mm family of high performance ammunition were developed to provide penetration and lethality approaching that of an assault rifle in a package small and portable enough to be carried like a handgun. Adopted by the German special operations unit KSK or Kommando Spezialkräfte in 2002, the MP7 is now available to U.S. military and law enforcement organizations.

The small, lightweight MP7 (less than four pounds loaded) is capable of penetrating modern body armor, including that of the former Soviet Bloc special forces, now the standard NATO test target. (CRISAT)

Vests like these are now commonly found in the hands of terrorists and criminals and make conventional pistol caliber weapons ineffective.

The MP7 can be fired with one or two hands, or from the shoulder using a sturdy retractable buttstock. It handles like a pistol, yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle. A folding vertical foregrip allows the weapon to be fired with excellent controllability to increase hit probability at all ranges. With its seven inch barrel, the HK MP7 is capable of firing 10 shot semiautomatic groups at 45 meters of less than 2 inches.

Edited to add: No I CAN'T get one![>(]

Sub-.20cal proprietary caliber... (.18... Is that a rimfire? Sounds like it might as well be in .17HMR)

Looks like an UZI with a rail on top...

I'd say 'NOT'...

Must... fight... ATAS... fetish...

I must say, it looks snazzy. I'd really like to have a few minutes with one and a few hundred rounds of ammo.

Hmmm, lets see here, you got yer protuberant extrusions and yer dangle enhanced attachment escutcheons, with the paraphenalial acoutrement access.

Nope, sorry.

Very specific tool for a very specific application.

I'm not dying that I can't have one.

it would be the shiznitz for eradicating some Central Park tree rats or rabid beercans.

Penetration is one thing, I wonder what the lethality is like. If I remember it fires an .18cal round weighing 26.2grs at around 2500 f.p.s. I doubt it'll do anything but "icepick" the wearer of the vest, but I may be wrong.

I want one for defense against spiders. The wolf spiders just get angry when I shoot them with my .22 now. [:D]

I really don't care either way. Personally I would go for the P90.

I'd rather have a Mini-Uzi.

Ballistics on this thing are WORSE than on the P90.

Which means they SUCK.

My thoughts exactly...

A small-caliber, high velocity round, but of a non-fragmenting AP design...

General concept behind the weapon is to go for a 'shotgun effect' of many small bullets being quickly fired into the target. If your target isn't wearing armor, you're worse off than having a 14.5" AR at long range...

which is what, if 5 guys in body armor come after while I am hiding under my bed?

it's badass looking but the teeny round sounds boring

If it shot 45-70 then it'd be cool!

I voted hot, but I think I would be tempted to find out where the paintballs went if I owned one.

Well a more likely mission purpose application would be terrorists with a bus load of hostages wearing body armor.

The MP7 would allow for rapid shot placement that would defeat the armor in a dynamic entry where first hits are more critical than terminal hits from a weapon compact enough to be used within tight confines.

Again, a tool for a very specific application.

maybe if it was in another caliber

I agree, I don't like the caliber. I wish H&K would stop pushing new caliber weapons.

Honestly, if they made a MP7 .40S&W variant, I'd do anything to get one. Oh man... .40S&W in a small machine pistol... Mmmmmm...

But, I dislike bullpups more than anything, so the MP7 wins just because it's not a bull-cr... I mean pup.

Know what, man's got a point.

That magwell honostly looks near the same as one for a USP. I see no reason why you couldn't chamber it for 9mm or .40 SW.

And that would rock.
