Are "tactical" thigh holsters legal for IDPA matches?

not unless you're a cop, and even then only as part of your duty gear.

If you're just an armchair commando or a gear queer then you have to use a concealable holster.

You do realize there's a list of approved holsters right?

I have a Fobus Roto holster, but it kinda gets in the way of my arm.

Fobus Rotos are illegal for IDPA.

Last I heard anyway.

Fobus standard are pretty popular.

Go with a Blade Tech.  The extra $ is money well spent.  Get a good belt like the "Instructor" from Wilderness Products while you are at it.  You will be glad you did in the long run.

Yeah, they don't like it when folks rotate them into weird angles.

Just show up with the roto straight up and down - I've never seen anyone turned away from a local monthly match because of something like that.
