Question from across the Pond. Do you need a licence to import/sell a pair of Night Vision Goggles into the US or are they unrestricted? I'm talking AN/AVS-6 type units here. Andy |

Andy Send NVGs TO the US, or buy them FROM the US? Sending them to the US requires nothing special, although duties must be paid on the actual value (which can be steep for NVGs) unless the entity buying them is tax-exempt (like local governments). Exporting them FROM the US is restricted, because of arms controls and the fact that we lead the world in NV technology, and they don't want our good gear going to arm our enemies. There is a fairly long and involved process with the State Department for that. |
