One of these other threads got me thinking about the cost of a (legal and justified) self defense shooting. Then I thought, why is there no insurance for this. I already spent who knows how much total for my gun, CCW, holster, etc...., what is another $100 for a self defense lawyer fund? Wouldn't this be worth it? The chances of actually being involved in a SD shooting are very small so I think the premiums would be very low. Are there legal boundaries to this or something? Or is it just the worry of defending your purchase of "killing insurance" to a jury? |
| Prepaid legal plans are quite popular these days. it doesnt have to be self defense specific. My employer offers one for something like $5 a month which allows for lease reviews, wills etc. plus it locks in a rate for legal/civil defense. You should look to see if there is anything like that in your AO. |

Quoted: I too, am interested in this, but have not heard the best things about those pre-paid plans as most are pretty limited and concentrate on civil stuff. If there was an honest to god insurence policy available for a reasonable cost I would buy it. SorryOciffer Look up your state police association for companies. I get prepaid legal on or off duty use of force coverage for 20$ a month thru the Texas Municipal Police Association. |
