View Quote Saw an article that I can't find again -- it suggested that it's the small cap/micro cap stocks that are taking a beating under biden; russel 2000 is down from early feb, which backs up the suggestion. *most* of what people in this thread invest in are small cap/micro cap -- the current winners are all major players, Nvidia, TSLA, etc -- and that's probably why we are all so beat up. I hate to think we need to wait until 2024 for this to change. Hopefully when biden's BBB fails and GOP take house/senate in 2022, the market gets less fearful? |

Mavis is getting really close to what I paid for her. Is it time to serve her with papers or stay in this ugly marriage and hope she comes out on the other side of menopause in halfway decent shape?

NVDA down 9% to well below $300, $285 actually, and of all things Tootsie Roll is up 11%. None of it makes sense.

Poking around my 401k this morning and had a random question.
I have pre-tax and roth options. Currently contributing 80% roth and 20% pre-tax. Balance wise, since roth was just added, I'm 85% pre-tax, 15% roth. Is there a good rule of thumb for target goal at retirement such as 50% pre tax, 50% roth? |

Maybe we can dot connect them buying MVIS in their throughs of disappointment? You never know. |

View Quote And if your retirement consists of Roth and Social Security, the SS will never be taxable. It's like double taxation on your pension when your income puts you in the 'partly taxable' range for Social Security. Make a little money, pay tax on it, plus pay tax on more of your SS. |

View Quote Depends more on your current tax bracket so tough to answer perfectly. Figure if youre in low tax brackets definitely 100% no question all Roth. If you’re in higher tax brackets it becomes more nuanced. Imo id consider traditional more strongly above 22% tax bracket which doesn’t take much to reach. Figure you save the 22%+ immediately from the tax man. Thats an instant 22%+ gain.. depending on tax bracket can be up to 37% instantly saved in taxes. Where else can you get an instant gain that large, guaranteed? The wild card is the roth will provide you tax free withdrawals at 59.5 years of age (retirement) so the money grows and withdraws with no taxes due. Most people agree their taxable income will be lower in retirement than their current tax rates. So with the traditional although taxes will be due upon withdrawal you should still be in lower tax brackets than currently. Its your choice though. At the end of the day you’re only depositing up to 6k a year so it’s not huge money. Some people just say fuck it and go all roth anyway. I do roth for my ira, i keep my wives in a traditional. Another thing to consider is roll overs. Generally 401k’s are traditional so if you ever leave company X your rollover will need to go into a traditional IRA unless you wanna pay out taxes and convert to a Roth when you rollover. Again your choice |

And if for some reason I'm wrong, I will back the truck up and load up. Reddit is good for entertainment and that's about it. Regarding the ARM - its not dead yet, however it is looking that way. They have a court date with the FTC next year. I wouldn't get any hopes up for it to go through. They don't need it anyway. This significant drop recently is because of several factors - 1. It went up extremely fast in the last two months, 2 - Crypto is down, 3 - The entire market is down, 4 - The arm deal keeps hitting snags, 5 - Jensen sold a ton of shares a day or two before the FTC Arm lawsuit was announced, which was blasted all over twitter over the weekend. NVDA will be fine. |
