AFAIK, the only way to go, is to download java or IRC. Both ways require something to be installed.

Looks like you are SOL. sorry. [:(]

I thought that the roadblock was in the security settings, but it doesn't look like that.  This guy would definitely know if I installed something new that would compromise the security of his machine, and I looked at that site and didn't find an easy way to uninstall the download.  
e'2000, I don't doubt your answer, but I wonder if this is the only way.  I just would like to log in to chat without any BS.

It can't compromise him any more than using that POS browser IE or Myraid other security holes in Windows.
