Can someone explain how to adjust them? Do they adjust the weight pull or just the length of pull and over travel? Any links to a how to for them? Thanks |

As a designated gunsmith, I have done 2 JP trigger installs. They can be very time consuming to adjust to the perfect trigger pull. I have found that oversize trigger and hammer pins (you have to remove the j-spring from the hammer) help out alot in reducing any wobble in the fire control parts. Adjustment is done by 2 set screws that control creep and overtravel. The weight of pull is set by using a low mass hammer and reduced power spring. I was able to get the pull on one setup to a very nice crisp 2.5 lbs. Oh ya, the thing that you really have to watch out for is adequate sear engagement. This can be tested by dropping the bolt on an empty chamber. You wouldn't believe how aggravating it is having to start all over after an hour of stoning the disconnect and adjusting the set screws only to find that the hammer lets go (slam fire) just from the impact of the bolt going into battery. Peace be with you. |
