A friend moved recently and now her desktop won't boot up. She doesn't have the OS CD ( of course)- can I copy NTldr, NTdectect and boot.ini from her HD- before boot up???
- I can never remember the dos commands----

I saw a freeware program called XXCopy- anyone ever used it??

Will any ntldr/detect/boot.ini work off of another XP box???

>>

here are the commands if using the copy utility-- WTH are they in DOS???

Agreed, what are the error messages? Just moved = loose cable most often.

i probably shouldn't post this, but whatever...

i'm such a hungover disaster this morning, when i read the title of your post, the first thing that ran through my mind was, "my boots already have enough problems, why would i want to win 2000 more of them?" [XX(]

ok, hope that helps.
