How have they become so univesaly worn/acceptable in "our" USA society. MEN,WOMEN,CHILDERN MARKETING!!! plus they must have a good mark-up.......I rembember when I was a rebelous youth (70's) and NEVER wore the "jordasche" or monthly fad jeans or just jeans in general. I wore my BDU's, or gie-(sparing)like stretch waist pants for the best mobility. But I've finally in the last decade (90's/late 80's) sucumbed to the peoplegenericjeans. There's so many grades of them out there and being single .......you married guys are so well dressed. O...what about 'casual' Fridays?....WTF is up w/that? NO this is not a GAY THREAD !!!!!!!

I can remember growing up (born 1957) jeans, mom called them "dungarees", were a no-no for wearing in public, until the 70's. I had a few pair of Jordache when they became popular. I think the popularity has a lot to do with the abandonment of the snob mentality when it comes to fashion. I personally wish that people wouldn't get *so* carried away with confusing "street person slob" with "casual". [rolleyes] |
