1st U.S. case of deadly new virus found in Wash. state, report says
A dangerous new virus that has sickened hundreds and killed six victims in China has now spread to Washington state, a federal source tells CNN. It is the first case of the "novel coronavirus" detected in the United States, according to the source. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to officially announce the case in a special briefing later Tuesday morning. CDC officials said the deadly virus was first detected in Wuhan, China. Six people have died from the virus and 291 have been infected in China, the National Health Commission said Tuesday. About 30 other cases have been detected in other Asian countries. Linky |

There's already enough sickness going around this year here. Can't wait to add another virus ??. The local news will have a nightly update on new infections, like they did with swine flu. Then, one day, it will never be mentioned again.

I love it when some killer virus kills a tiny amount of people yet panic ensues. Does big Phrama have a vaccine ready to go yet?

Then there might not be a mass die off, no marshall law, no consolidation of federal power, reasingment of living quarters and occupation to the survivors, etc. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to announce this afternoon that the first case of Wuhan coronavirus has been reported in the United States, in Washington state.
The man is a resident of Snohomish County, Wash., who experienced symptoms after returning from a trip to the region around Wuhan, China, where the outbreak began. He was hospitalized with pneumonia last week, and infection with the coronavirus was confirmed on Monday afternoon. |

The regular flu kills 30,000 to 60,000 people in the US every year (depending on how bad the strain is). View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

With much drama and no real danger? This ain't the flu of WW1. From August 1918, the virus was spreading around the world in several waves, infecting almost everyone. It caused illness in 20% to 50% of infected people and death in 1% to 5%. The great influenza pandemic of 1918-19, often called the Spanish flu, caused about 50 million deaths worldwide; far more than the deaths from combat casualties in the World War One (1914-18). In fact, it may have killed between 3% and 6% of the global population. current deaths to infected in china virus 6/300 2 percent one could argue this flu could be as bad.. BIRD FLU! |

It was just a matter of time I guess. Hope this isn't the omen of bad things to come in 2020

This is a brand-new, never before seen virus. Nobody has a vaccine yet. There isn't even a treatment. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
