VZ were the go-to for 1911s a few years back, I have a set and like them well enough.

LOK seem to be popular with CZs, I’ve felt them on a P01 and they’re nice enough too

So what is your choice?

Sorry I don't do the CZ thing but almost all my Beretta 92 series guns have LOK grips. Jayson, (the owner of LOK), is an excellent guy. Very responsive and helpful even though he is non-stop busy. He has done a few custom grip sets for me for both my Vertec and standard style frames. I was able to specify the color, texture, and I even have him do a couple of extra radius cuts for me to fit my hand better. I don't get into the multi color grips from him. I prefer solids and it seems it is easier to get what I want color wise from LOK vs VZ. All of my grips are either black, coyote, fde, or OD from LOK. All of my VZ grips are multi colored.

I do have a few sets of VZ grips like those that came on my WC, LTT Berettas and my M9A1 Compact. They are good grips and I have no issues with them. You just can't get the same custom tailored grip like you can get with LOK. Either way you are going to get an excellent set of grips. I don’t know if Houge makes grips for the CZ or not but I have a few sets on my Sigs and I like them as well.

Tagging for interest. I think VZ makes the LTT thin grips for 92FS and the ultra thin LTT Beretta Compact grips which are the only grips I have experience with. They are outstanding grips, though.

I’ve heard good things about LOK. I think I read somewhere that their 92 profile grips are thinner than the LTT and WC offerings, and between those two I went with the LTT because I had read that the Wilson medallion adds a little girth.

As a recent CZ convert, I’m now eyeing replacement grips. It’s not that the factory grips are bad by any means - they’re quite comfortable in fact - it’s just that the G10 grips made such a huge improvement with the Beretta, I’m convinced they’ll do the same on the CZ. Why not give yourself every advantage you can when shooting?

FWIW the founder of VZ grips got his start, and sold his first set of grips, here on arfcom.

The profile on the thin grips does a kind of wave. Having both the LTT and WC thin VZs, I cant tell a difference having the medallion or not. I also use the short reach trigger a lot since I have smedium hands. Because of this I agree, with a pistol like the Beretta and most likely the CZ being very similar, the grips make a significant impact. My choice for the G10s though is grip. I like an aggressive texture.

It’s a coin toss. I’ve used VZ for years and every 1911 my wife and I own have them. My Beretta’s all wear LOK and I’m very pleased with them as well.

Either. They are both good products.

I went with VZ on my CZ.

I've had both on my cz.   Like the LOK palm swell grips for the thickness in my big hands.

Both are quality, buy which fits your hands better.

Lok.  I run Lok palm swell grips on all three of my CZ's.  For me, they just fit (YMMV).

My buddy has tiny little girl hands, great for grabbing a dropped bolt in a foreign made engine, he went with the thin grips from LOK and loves them. I shoot that gun really well but generally use a larger grip than factory in any gun that has the replacements (Glock).

Yeah, it’s like a reverse palm swell almost. It makes an appreciable difference certainly when you’re holding the gun. I also put a Wilson combat short reach trigger in my M9A1c and Wilson combat trigger bar along with the factory D spring. It’s a great shooter.

Do the LOKs flex at all upon install? I’ve had multiple models of CZ’s and when gripping the gun the majority of grips I have tried will always flex - they never fit securely due in part to the one screw design. Nills are the only aftermarket ones that didn’t exhibit this. I’m using VZ’s now, tried CZ Custom, Henning, Nills, Hogue...

Have a pair of LOK grips on my SP-01. He gets my vote. Have had VZ on my 1911. They were nice as well, but the custom work from LOK was quick and easy.

Armanov Spidergo grips

Have 3 pairs, won't buy anything else going forward.

I’ve owned both.
I wouldn’t know the difference without the label on them.
Fit and finish is identical so buy the shape and color you like or which ever is cheaper.
I’m pretty sure I left the LOKs on my PO1

What size glove do you wear? Any direct comparisons to VZ or Henning or DAA?

LOK Palmswell Bogies are about as grippy as it gets

Not the best looking pattern, on a gun as good looking as a CZ, but damn they are grippy.

I can only compare them to VZ, LOK, and CZ custom/CZ UB.

The palm swells are perfect, right in between lok and rubber CZ grips. The machined material (aluminum) is insanely grippy, nothing I've tried compares to it.

XL size gloves.

Try a pair, they're great.

Check BEnos, everyone who has a set gives them super reviews.

Lok bogies feel like a bucket of Crisco compared to armanov Spidergo grips. And they look good.

I prefer "Other" for my CZ grips. I took off the black, plastic CZ grips from my CZ 75 (so-called pre B) and put them on my stainless steel CZ 75B and put some Hogue Cocobolo smooth wood grips on my CZ 75. I like the way these look and feel in my hands. Much better than any VZ grips.

I have these on a couple of my guns, I like them.
Not much of a palm swell, but not as flat as the aluminum grips; you can still get a good grab on them. Not the dumb Punisher ones, the sunburst.

How do the VZ standard compare to the LOK standard and thin? VZ doesn’t have a “thin” option. In other words, is the VZ standard equivalent to the LOK standard?

Meaning that the LOK thin option is a thinner option than what is available through VZ?

I have a few sets from both brands, and both are very well made and very well fitted.  However I've also dealt with both owners regarding custom orders.  While Jason from Lok treated me with tremendous respect, going out of his way to make me happy (I'm not a demanding guy at all), Mr. VanZyck was disrespectful and curt.  That might have been bad enough, but stemming from a simple misunderstanding he made some negative assumptions about my character I won't forget.

All other things being equal, I try to give Lok my business.
