First, you guys saved me some money. Thanks for warning me not to rent or buy, you were correct. This movie sucked on many levels, the worst of which is it 'could' have been a good movie. It was pathetic the way they fictionalized the Hollywood bank robbery. The sad outcome will be that 85% of the population will believe that is how it happened. It was weak because Colin Farrel is a pussy and I have a hard time accepting him in a John Wayne capacity. The chick who played Sanchez is far more convincing. LL Cool J effectively reduced the movie to the quality and feel of a Nike commercial complete with inane sound bites and annoying rap soundtrack. I used to like LL Cool J and think he would have been good in the role had he tried to portray a SWAT member and not LL Cool J on a SWAT team. They only one who worked for me at all was Samuel Jackson and even most of his stuff was the standard cliche. The high point being "they only roll in John Woo movies." In fairness the movie wasn't too much hokier than the 70s TV show. I didn't realize how bad they were until I saw them again for the first time in 20 years on TV Land. I suppose at least the bad guy was French which is a much appreciated departure from the standard "Sum Of All Fears" evil white man crap. Well he was still a 'evil white man' but at least they made him French. I'm hoping if they ever do decide to make Rainbow Six - The Movie they will study the film SWAT as a "how not to make a film" source. Also funny was when the gang members tried to take the convoy armed with Tec 9s, etc. the news faithfully reported them as "armed with AK47s" despite the fact that I don't recall seeing any. If there really weren't any it seemed like a inside joke. Save your money on this one unless you have a house full of 12 year olds, they'll love it. |

| I watched it for the first time last night too. Was that a mix of black, hispanic and asian gang members that attacked the decoy convoy? Earlier they showed each gang who was interested in the 100 mil. But I did enjoy that guy in the white jeep, the one that was blowing the horn at the cops, who got hit by the semi. |

It was a flop, but at least it had ARs in it. How about the part when their under ground, and the cop shines that Surefire M500B in the French guys face from about 16in. away, and the guys eyes are still open looking at him. I couldn't do that with an M3. His hair should have caught on fire. [flame] Oh, and what's up with " I cleaned your gas tube ". I'll clean your gas tube. [sex] |

how about "I want you to give my M4 a tune-up, but don't touch the sights. I got the dialed in" (or something like that) and "I took the liberty of changing the gas rings". I don't know about you guys, but if I was to hand my rifle to some dude behind a counter, the first thing I'd do after getting it back is to sight it back in.
