If you gotta have a 91, your best option is the PTR91.
I ran into the following problems:
1. Tight chambers - FTEs when the gun got warm after a few rounds. Basically the company is a bunch of Mauser enthusiasts and they tried to bleed every ounce of accuracy out of it possible. I don't think they remebered it was suppossed to be a semi.
They corrected this "at cost" and now mine feeds any NATO .308 100% reliably.
2. Gay Peep Sight - They didn't think about the fact that the German sight has 3 peep appetures and didn't need a 4th as much as it needs a open sight.
I replaced this with a German sight, problems solved.
3. Loose Trigger Pack - They got close but no cigar, like many US attempts at a spec HK receiver they got closer than anyone else but still came up short.
They fixed it by adding a velcro strip that took up the slack. I was not amused.
I fixed it by having my trigger pack professionally reshelfed to accomodate the difference in spec for $75.00.
4. Poor quality furniture - Pretty cheesy buttstock with no internal buffer, handguards with no heat shield and the pistol grip really didn't matter.
I replaced all 3 with factory German furniture. As a consequence I have to use US mags to be legal (3 US parts bodies, followers and floorplates) or at least until the AW ban hopefully sunsets.
You could also replace with Special Weapons / Top Notch US made furniture which isn't nearly as good as HK but isn't as bad as what comes on this gun.
Once you do that you are golden. You will have a gun with a receiver that is close enough to HK spec that it will last you your entire life and will probably be enjoyed by your grand kids. It will actually be accurate (they make their own polygon barrels) and reliable unlike the other copies out there.
That would be my recommendation.
