I rarely hit the speed limit in Portland because of the congestion. 55MPH means little when its bumper to bumper nearly everywhere in town. The real fun happens when is snows.

Speed limits in general are lowered in relation to traffic density. As an area grows, it goes down.

The highest speed limit in my neck of the woods is 85mph and I regularly drive on the 80mph highway sections where most cars are cruising in the mid 80s to low 90s and its not uncommon to have to hit triple digits in order to pass.

On the 85 mph areas you better be comfortable with driving 90mph or you are going to be a potential road hazard. Its crazy to me when I see folks trying to drive 65mph on a 85mph highway and getting passed by people going 95 (or more).

Most of the time around here, if you are on the interstate highways, you had better do 80 or your ass will get run over.

Cobb Co, Barrett Pkwy headed towards the East-West connector. Miles and miles of nothing but trees and swamp on a 4 LN divided road the speed limit is 45. There are three to four Cobb PD cars out there running radar. I'm sure that road makes the county lots of money.

If I feel the need for speed, I hop on my SRX700. I'll be doing 80 before I get to the end of the field. Hold the f on. Took this a few days ago.

When I get behind the wheel and get on the public roadways, I've gotten all the excitement out of the way and its down to business.

Meh. I think they should reduce zoning and eco regulations to allow more racetracks and 1/4 mile tracks. Let people get their racing out of their system.

I'm not picturing the hot dog thing. Can you post a pic that shows it? Seems like guys mostly face just puffs up and they get the double chin depending on how fat they are.

Can someone explain why the stupid municipalities keep building those 4' high barriers at every fucking intersection? Are they planning on being able to block off every intersection for some reason?

My city is like Baghdad some days. They could give a fuck about speeders just about everywhere but in front of the nicer schools in town.

I'm pretty sure they've considered removing the stop signs in certain parts of the city so that the cops never have to come to a stop for safety reasons
