When I went into outlook express today to retreive my mail, all of my messages in my inbox were gone.  All messages in other folders are still there.

Is there any way to recover the inbox items.  I didnot delete them.

Outlook express 6 on windows 98.

There is a button somewhere that makes all your email invisable. My mother made her's disappear once. I'd find it but I only work for money.

The most likely answer is that you are screwed.  Outlook Express is prone to do this.  You can search for a backup copy of the Inbox.dbx file on your computer and hope to get lucky.  More than likely the only Inbox.dbx will be the new empty one.

Don't panic........yet.

First select your inbox.  Click:

- View
- Current View

Make sure you don't have "Hide Read Messages" selected.  If you do, select "Show All Messages" and see if your mail is present.

If not, do a search for *.dbx.  If you have more than one inbox.dbx, replace the smallest file with the biggest file.  You should have your mail.

If none of the above applies or fixes your problem, I'm sorry but you're SOL.
