Bought it used and and is a shooter. I'm shooting one hole groups at 100yards. I'm saving for a good tactical scope. I have a cheap ass BSA lightd rectile on it right now and it seems to be holding zero great. It will work til I save enough to get a good scope. I got it for dirt cheap because everyone wants an adj trigger. I ordered a new trigger and it shoots great.

Well.... WTF is it!? Rem 700?
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:12:10 PM EDT
Oh kinda left that part out. It's a Savage with a Choate stock in .300 win mag

Very nice and I'm surprised that the 300 is as accurate as you're claiming. Its not an inherently accurate round. Nice buy, just put a note to Santa for the Christmas scope wish.

the savage has been a good bang for my buck. i think they make a quality product for not a lot of dough. You have a nice looking rifle there, don't get me thinking about suping up my rifles though, as I am too poor to do so.

Oh shit, thats why you have all that blue stuff. I am stuck between a Savage with the McMillan stock, a 700pss or the SEBR package. Cant decide.....

I have to wonder why you would want to get another scope when that one connects the dots? Nice setup. About $500+-?

i didn't know the 300 win mag had a reputation for bad accuracy. Carlos Hathcock won the '65 national 1000yard championship with a 300 win mag.

I hate to point out the obvious, but it seems you already got one of those.

For a great budget minded scope you can't beat the Bushnell 3200 elite with mildot reticle. It's a fixed 10 power which for me is plenty of power with very clear optics. Here is my budget precicion rifle, Bushnell scope held together with Leupold rings and bases, Harris Bipod, and Savage 10FP. All for $725 brand new with tax. Sorry. I thought you were the guy giving sheepfront-the-nazi hell over on prebans.com Oops! Now I see what the confusion is about. It was starfistfuphucker.

SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....don't tell anyone about this....ya know the supply and demand thing....demand will go up and so will prices! Seriously..they are the best bang of the buck period. I have a 10FP .308 with the 20" bbl and it's a tack driver. A freind of mine bought a Rem 700 LE in .308 and the savage shoots just as well...maybe better in the right hands. He has yet to out shoot me.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 5:55:46 PM EDT
Nice rifle. I have the 10fp in .308 with the Accu-trigger, Choate stock, and a similar BSA Catseye scope. It is an amazingly accurate combination.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 6:07:50 PM EDT
Why are y'all choosing the .308 over the .300 Winchester Magnum? Does it give better performance or is it availability of ammo? What did that AccuTrigger set you back, triburst1? If you don't mind me asking? And what did you set it at to break/trip?

Yah, that Starphucker is a real jackass. When he started talking about dog fighting he set me off. Now I realize is full of it and doesn't even own dogs or guns of any kind. I'm pretty sure he is just a kid messing around on dad's computer.
