A Mobile Press Register reporter is going around iraq and Kuwait interviewing and doing stories on our locals over there. He has been doing a great job.

I thought this was too funny!

www.al.com/news/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/opinion/106958257693251.xml

I heard the following remarkable dialogue, delivered strictly for my amusement, between Staff Sgt. Randy White, 43, of Spanish Fort, and Roanoke, Ala., resident Anthony Smith, 20, who is White's turret gunner. Imagine White barking like Gen. Patton, and the baby-faced Smith answering as deferentially as any Parris Island recruit.

Sgt. White: "When you get into my Humvee as turret gunner, what's your primary job, Smith?!"

Pvt. Smith: "My job as your turret gunner is to be a target, sir!"

White: "And what's your job once we start rolling down the road, Smith?"

Smith: "Then my job is to be a moving target, sir!"

White: "And what will I have to do if I ever get shot, Smith?"

Smith: "Sir, if you ever get shot, you're going to have to shoot me in the ass, sir!"

White: "And why am I going to shoot you in the ass, Smith?"

Smith: "Because I will have failed to do my job as a target, sir!"

The affection between these two was clear, as was the respect that all of Sgt. White's squad members have for him.

LMAO!

[LOL] You have to love the uniquely bizarre sense of humor between brothers-in-arms.

That private knows his job very well, and what happens if there is a breakdown in his work ethic [rofl2]
