I do 20 minuta day max. Women spend too much time on small details. Efficiency is more emportant than details. Eat over the sink and eat out of the pot you cook in, you know just small time savers.
I don't want some stranger messing with my stuff, so I don't think I would consider a house keeper. JWM |

Actually, I just made a deal to start having my house cleaned. The girfriend of one of the guys in my reserve unit is trying to get started doing it, and asked me if I would put up a simple website and help her with flyers and brochures in return for cleaning every other week or so.
At work, it is getting to the point where I need to start hiring people to do the more mundane tasks while I work with customers and handle the ever growing mail/web based order side of things. Anybody want a part time job in a surplus store? I can pay in 30 rd mags. |

I'm filling in the next month or so for one of our drivers that had a quadruple bypass . It's night shift, but it's only the Richmond shuttle and it's about $1000 more a month. I'm begining to like it so much I might grab the next one to come open (at least I'm begining to like the money[:D]).
Anyway, I've noticed that even though I'm spending the same amount of time at work, being reverse cycle allows me to get all sorts of stuff done. I still have weekends off, so no problem seeing my kids. Now I've been doing laundry, cleaning house, doing yard work, working on my truck, all sorts of things are getting done. Between that and the money, I'm really beinging to like this. I spend the same amount of time doing the chores, but I've spread them out more. I used to just put off a task until I needed to, then I'd have to weigh in and go after it. Now I'm just doing a couple minutes of each task and it's working out great. Of course it means stuff like my truck will be dead for a couple days instead of just one, but it's so much easier. I guess it's just more productive use of my time. Ross |

I hear some people, after getting a house cleaner, clean up before they arrive. One of those "visitor" arriving issues.
I don't know how people afford these monthly expences: 1) Gardener 2) House cleaner 3) Car washing service I do everything myself...and of course ONLY for you Miss Magnum[:D] |

As tired as I am, I still do everything myself. I clean, I cook, I mow the lawn, water the plant, go to work, play with the kid and keep the lady happy. You guys can laugh at me all you want but that's what I am doing. I mean the house is sparkling clean the way I like it. That is what "The Man of the House", been a father and been a husband should.

I often think about having someone come in and vacuum my house once in a while, but then I realize I'm too cheap and it doesn't really take that long - plus, living by myself in a pretty big house it takes a while before it feels like it needs to be cleaned. Although I do hire the neighbour kid to feed my cats and water my plants when I'm out of town.
However, at WORK I've discovered the beauty of hiring research assistants! Once the fun part of designing a study is over, then I can now hand it over to them who do all the mundane and boring crap like recruting subjects, collecting the data and entering the data - then I get to do the fun part like taking credit for it when I publish it. [:D] |

I've had a housekeeper for 3 years now and it's great. She comes in at 2pm and does it all. Laundry, house cleaning, ironing, geez she even irons my bed sheets, shopping, and she cooks for me twice a week ! Not too bad for $150.00 a week.

We've been through three housekeepers in the past year. No matter how much we pay, they all flake out and fail to show up or call with some excuse why they can't make it at least twice a month. Maybe as the economy cools things will be different.
As far as security, everything valuable is locked in the "gun room/Matt's home office/no womenz allowed room" before she comes over. I clean that room myself. |

When I was living in Kali, my roommate and I had a house keeper. She came in every other week and cleaned the house top to bottom(vacuum/dust/bathrooms/dishes/including 2 loads of laundry). This was a 2bdrm/2bath single story condo about 1500sq.ft.
we paid $100 per month. That's $50 a piece. Don't know how big your house is, but it should but a lot more inexpensive compared to CA. This is well worth it. After all time is money. Instead of spending a Sat trying to get caught up, and wondering what happened to the weekend, you can actually enjoy it. |

Hey Sarah, I need a house keeper too. About 5'5" dark hair, dark eyes. Next month I will be moving back into my 2 story 4 bedroom house, all alone. Might have to rent out a couple of rooms. Women only. (this story is developing).
