S&W 3913 for CC, no doubt
A carbine that isn't available now with a different moniker doesn't come immediately to mind. |

I had a Ruger P90 in 1992. Not sure why I ever sold it. View Quote If I had to choose though I'd probably go 1911, was a favorite of mine back then and have had one myself since. |

Didn't have much $ in 92. It was a Taurus PT92. Still have it, don't recall a FTF, FTE, etc in all those years. It's far from the most accurate pistol I've ever had, but it works. View Quote To this day: I have a small basketball team of T guns that should not be in equal company with other brands of better repute, according to ARF. Why? I hear they're shitty. All guns are range toys; no safe queens for me. Brasil makes have gone bang when they should, and have been around for YEARS. Back to topic. I've made my entry. If I could have a lil bit of time after the cutoff? 4013 TSW, railed. Two times. |

lol, I dont own a glock or a .40 so I would have what I have. a full size USP 9mm, a sigpro in .357sig, and a shield in 9mm

I like DAO S&W guns, so I'll go with what I have owned in the past.
4546 4586 5946 6946 3943 If I'm limited to just two, then 4546 & 3953. Same round count, same action. The 4586 would carry a little easier, but the 4546 was very accurate for me. |

Been there done that. Lived through AWB unaffected.

I carried a custom Springfield 1911 45acp.
Jeez those things were/are heavy. Still carry a 5906 from time to time. |
|
In the mid 90s I carried a S&W 5906, sweet shooting, good weight, low recoil. Backup was a S&W 6906 which accepted the 5906 mags.

I've never owned a Glock. I used to carry a Hi Power, presently carrying a Beretta 92, so I guess one of those.

Back then I had a Ruger P85. It never jammed and even ate up the hot IMI Uzi ammo

Thread Title says The year is 1992 and .40 S&W and Glock are never invented[/b]... what do you choose? So inferring from that.... that means that in 1982, the Glock 17 was never invented. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The perfection is never invented. Choose something else. In that case BHP So inferring from that.... that means that in 1982, the Glock 17 was never invented. Or did 10mm exist, and never devolve into .40? Do Glocks exist, or did this Mandelian time shift erase Gaston from history. Or, did he never develop his Safe Action Pistol and just make 1911’s or some other silliness instead? OP has my head all full of fuck. |

In 92 I was carrying a 4566 on duty and a 3913 off duty iirc.

So in your hypothetical world Glocks don't exist? I'll simply invent the Glock 19 and be done with this silly game of hypotheticals.

I bought my first pistol--a NIB Glock Gen. 2 G22 in the summer of 1991. I got on board pretty early and started reloading for the 40 in early '95. I believe I paid $387 out the door with an original NY trigger. Chris View Quote |

Choose for what?
Home defense/nightstand gun? Beretta 92. Carry piece? Some kind of .380 auto or a J-Frame. |

Ten years further back (1982) I was carrying a Colt Combat Commander in .45 acp with 5 eight round magazines. One in the pistol and four on the duty belt. Winter time back up was a 2&3/4" stainless steel Speed Six with six 125 grain hollow points in it and two more HKS speed loaders in the left hand coat pocket. Summer time back up was a very small .22 semi auto (can't remember the brand, but people laughed at it till I put six hollow points into a grapefruit sized target at 15 yds. over and over with no malfunctions. It was in my left shirt pocket behind the pocket stiffener we used to keep the badge from making the shirt/pocket sag and an extra magazine was in the opposite pocket.
My rifle was an M1A with a few 20 round magazines and a Bushnell 4X12 BDC scope (from the days with Bausch and Lomb made those scopes). It has the same scope on it today, thousands of rounds later. The speed six is loaded and on top a tall clothes cabinet in the bedroom. The Combat Commander is in the safe. The little .22 is somewhere in the attic on a shelf and I haven't seen it in 30 years or more. If were forced to carry a 9MM I don't know what I'd have used. I don't like decockers, I don't like safeties on the slide. Maybe I'd have been lucky enough to find a CZ75. I carry one of those today and I know they fit me and are good to go. Back then my mind was still tainted concerning M16/AR15 rifles due to my military experiences vs. the M14 (the reason I had my M1A.) |

Sig 228. In 92 I had a Ruger P85 but needed something more compact so I picked up a Sig P228 which I still have.

1076(one day I'd like to own one) BHP Some long gun. Ionno. The history of the .40 S&W started when a gentleman form South Africa came to the United States. Mr. Paul Liebenberg; many know him for his work in S&W's Performance Center and the excellent craftsmanship he has done. But when he first came to the US he started working for Pachmyar Gun Works. He worked on a side project known as the Centimeter Cartridge. It was to replace the .38 Super for IPSC and was also part of what Whit Collin's went into making the .40 G&A. Collin's wanted a replacement cartridge for IPSC when he worked on the .40 G&A with Col. Jeff Cooper. Well, Mr. Liebenberg left Pachmayr and founded his own company; Pistol Dynamics. From there he made a friend; Tom Campbell. Campbell and Liebenberg worked on the Centimeter Cartridge and tried to get S&W interested in it. Which eventually happened. Then president of the company; Steve Melvin approached Liebenberg about converting a couple of their new 3rd Gen 5906s. Liebenberg obliged and the .40 S&W that we know today was born. Mr. Liebenberg was working on it when Jeff Cooper had Norma draw up 10x25mm Norma. |

Same thing I'd choose now - BHPs, CZ-75s and Smith wheelguns in .357/.38
I've never owned a Glock or a .40 although I've shot them a lot. |

Ruger P89. I still have it. It has never failed to fire. Most reliable gun, I have ever owned. Too heavy for me to conceal, but it is my HD pistol go to.
