There was this thread last fall about hot single inmates at women's prison...so I picked one I saw promise with and wrote a 2 page letter by hand.

I sent a hand written letter first class, took 2 months to get there, and be read, and today we talked by phone...

Isn't there some law that prohibits a person from having guns if there is a previously convicted felon in the house?

That is enough to keep a gun owner from getting serious about a woman with a record.

Those first dates might be fun, but soon the guy will hear, "We've been dating for ___ months now. Where do you see our relationship going?"

There are no conjugal visits for unmarried inmates. Closest you can get is if she goes to a low security facility. I used to visit a friend at the Ancora low sec unit in NJ. There were concrete/wood picnic tables around the Yard, you would see an inmate with his gf/baby momma/wife visiting, kids would be playing in the dirt next to the table while the gal would sit on the inmate's lap while making slow circles trying not to be obvious, kids right there less than 6 feet away.

You haven't lived until you come home from work (at the jail) to find Jail Mail in your mailbox. Jail Mail is usually characterized by the envelope being covered with kindergarten stick figure drawings, or even quasi-stained glass art made from Jolly Ranchers dissolved in hot water to make colored glass. A gal I had living with me was molested by her father, he went to prison for 20 something years. Her stupid mother gave him my address, so he could apologize to her since he was dying from Hep or something. Most of the letter was Woe is me, I need commissary money on my books.

We don't talk anymore, but she should be out In a week or so.

In The short time we exchanged emails/phone calls it was determined by me that all she wanted was a sugar daddy , and was probably talking to about ten other men at the same time.

I ejected right after the conversations turned to solicitations for money. The only cash I spent was telephone minutes.

Last conversation I had was via email telling her I wasn't sending any money, I had no desire to meet, and I was not interested anymore.

Having literally no expectations in this , it was a good eject.

But:

I know a girl (actually 41 y.o.) in a minimum security facility. She "earns" about $12/month for participating in a program. I put $20 on her account occasionally and she is absolutely ecstatic. The money order must be sent to a private processing company which then sends a credit to the facility. The processing company charges a fee for charge/debit payments but not for money orders. I assume the phone credits work the same way.

She may get out in a few months. I've exchanged letters with her. I'm waiting to see if they approve (they do a thorough background investigation) my visitor application. If so; I'll spend some time there talking to her. The facility rules allow a "brief" hug and kiss at the beginning and end of a visit. She's in for felony drug possession and says (I'm sure they all say the same thing) that she is not going back to her former life. Even with the best of intentions; she is severely handicapped by family baggage. Court records show that Mom, Dad and brothers are all serial shit-birds.

So why bother? Well; there is something; I hooked up with her once, a few years ago, and was totally impressed with her warmth and passion. I'd like a re-match to see if it works that good again. Romance? Maybe some. Friends with benefits would be fine.
