Since he is threatening the US. Why don't we blockade NK and dare him to retaliate?
He's not going to retaliate because he knows the end result thus forcing him to the table......JMHO. I know fat boy is not sane but I doubt he wants to be annihilated either. A blockade allows us to step up the pressure without firing the first shot. Thoughts? |

Honestly, my first thought was to load up an f22's gun with blanks and buzz lil Kim durring a speech and empty the belt at him. Basically "if we wanted you dead, you would be" strafing run. Bonus points if they try to chase us and we shoot down their Air Force. Maybe it's better I'm not a politician |

North Korea has been, at various times, a client state of the Soviet Union and China. Fat Kim's grandpa was actually a Soviet officer during WW2.
This is why sanctions have not, and cannot be, effective. At this point China, and to a lesser extent Russia, are using North Korea against the US. This is similar, but not identical, to the use of proxies in the past: -Cuba, by the Soviets -The Viet Minh, and later North Vietnam, by both the Soviets and China -Angola, etc. No "blockade" will be effective unless the Chinese and Russian borders with NK are closed. This would mean that these nations effectively abandon their client state. This will not happen. The US is being maneuvered into a first strike, in an attempt to isolate the US. The only effective answer to this is to encourage OUR proxies to develop nuclear capabilitiy: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan. Absent that, we must wait for an attack, and respond with massive NUCLEAR retaliation. Otherwise every shitbag country on the planet will attempt the same as NK. |

I would think a blockade would be another way to put the hurt on NK.
The UN would have to do it though, we cant go into their waters without it being a act of war. It would be interesting to see if they are getting their nukes or missals from Pakistan. Thing to remember is NK lost 30% of their crops this year due to drought in the spring. They are facing a famine again this winter if they cant import more food. These sanctions may have an impact more then any others in the past. Trump is going to talk to the China President tonight, maybe something will come out of it. |
