Talk me into, or out of, an RIA 1911 22 TCM/ 9mm combo. 2000fps has me thinking. Yeah, I know. Handgun forum and such. GD is so much more fun picking the nuggets of wisdom out of all the BS.

Are you planning on using it for home defense? If so, make sure the 9mm barrel is in on dark nights- otherwise you will cause blindness with muzzle flash.

I bought one, a double stack version. Figured if I did not like the TCM, I would still have a double stack 9mm.

I love the TCM!  Fireballs and report that make others at the range shit. Pure smile factor. Near zero recoil.

Does it serve any self defense needs, nope. It's just a fun little round.

I did buy dies and bullets. This winter I will load up some killer varmint loads.

Dude.  We just went through 8 years of panics and shortages that would have left anyone unprepared ready to suck a dude's dick in an alley for the most pedestrian of handguns (Say, a Glock 19), a couple mags and a case of ammo.

If you have to waffle on buying something FUN during these days of relative calm in the gun world, you're not doing it right.

Buy the fuckin' fun gun.

I have one.  It is fun.  I am not too attached to it and I don't take it too seriously.

Guns are fun, OP.  Live a little.

We have one and it is the hit at our local indoor range.  When we touch it off, everyone stops and wonders what the heck we are shooting.  We do not have it as a serious defense gun, but something that is fun to shoot.  It is a pain in the back side to reload for, but it can be done.  People that have shot it were impressed on how easy it was to shoot and no recoil!!!!

Call me when they make one of the 1911's in it with a threaded barrel

Fun and quite accurate.  Very affordable to reload for with the factory jhp at $6 per 100.  Mine with 9mm has terrible accuracy, around 3.5" or so at 25 yards.  I thought I would use it for pistol matches but without fitting a new barrel not worth it so 22TCM it stays.

I wish the 9mm barrel in my TCM would do 3.5" at 25 yards.

Caved in to peer pressure and fent. Mint in box RIA 1911 22TCM/9mm. One mag of 9mm run through it, 22 TCM barrel has not been used except for factory test fire. $400 out the door. How did I do? Going to the range in the morning if the rain slows down.

I fired the double stack combo. Pure FUN ! Nice boom and big orange fireball. I aimed dead on and smoked the at the five gallon buckets at 100 yards....wait. Bottle neck case, flat trajectory, and FN PS90 carbine ballistics. It moved up several notches on my buy list.

sadly this does seem to be an issue with some of the RIA guns, I have a match .45 that I love, and eats anything I feed it, which is rare for a 1911.  But our sig 1911 compact is far superior as far as accuracy goes.  Its still not bad, but not what I had hoped for either.
