His Sunday Valley and live stuff before he hit it big is amazing. The new record was pretty underwhelming. To me Sturgil is like the Black Keys in that the more they are produced the worse they sound. Put them in a basement with a $5000 budget and they create magic.
Cody Jinks and Chris Knight are in Simpson's class they just haven't caught mainstream attention. |
