First off, I am not going to drop 1000 + dollars for my first drone.
That said, are there any in the sub 200 dollar range that have an on board camera for still shots and offer decent range? Auto return would be nice but I understand it may be out of my price range. Would really like something that would accept one of my go pro cameras, but I understand that may be beyond my price point. Please dont tell me to build my own as I dont know chit about electronics and such. I am looking for something RTF. Thanks. |

| In that price range your options are limited. A Blade Glimpse might be a good choice for a first. Crash resistant, able to fly indoors, HD camera, Wi-Fi video feed to your phone. No GPS or return to home though. Not for windy days outdoors, but you can crash in tall grass all day long without breaking anything. Hard floors and walls will eventually take their toll. But they are very easy to fix. Wi-Fi video has too much lag for fast FPV flight. But it will work for getting it into position to take pics or slowly flying from room to room. |

For adding the GoPro, the 3DR Solo is a good platform, but it has been discontinued for a while now so if you do find one make sure to buy a supply of spare batteries and props as they are getting harder to find. The Solo is a good flying machine.
Sub $200 is hard to find in a photography/videography drone. Best deal going now would be a factory refurbished DJI Phantom 3 Advanced: Refurbed Phantom 3 Advanced It will have several of the automated flight capabilities like point of interest, waypoints, course and home lock, and return to home. It is a big step up from a Phantom 3 Standard, and well worth the money. I still use mine to shoot professional real estate jobs from time to time. The GoPro Karma would use your existing GoPro camera, but is above $1000, and the DJI Mavic is a better aircraft at that price point. |
| Newegg had a dji p3 standard a couple days ago for 349. I bought my p3 pro for 529 refurbished from dji. You'll be sad with anything under 200 unless you want to race it or just f around. Put your gopro on a cheap drone you'll probably lose them both. Buy once cry once, same with drones as guns. |
