Much of what goes on inside prisons and jails is sanitized for the public. With that said, during the past 20 years, much of what goes on inside prisons and jails has started getting to the outside world. Almost everyone now knows the location what is referred to as someone's prison wallet.
The social hierarchy inside jails and prisons is VERY interesting. Those who abuse little kids, puppies, and kittens are truly in for a hard time in prison. And it doesn't bother me a bit. Robbers and murderers are sort of at the top of the hierarchy. The way prisoners establish their social hierarchy is actually quite interesting to me. I actually found it quite interesting to work with prisoners, and criminals both inside and outside the institutions. Those inside the institutions for the criminally insane were REALLY a challenge because they don't have the same motivations, or logic as most other prisoners. Doing prisoner transports from the institutions for the criminals with severe mental health issues kept me much more on edge than other prisoners. |
