| Anyone here has any advice about getting hired on as a helper? been putting in apps for the last 2 years. Local BA's are not returning anymore calls from applicants. Any info would be greatly Appreciated. |

I believe the easiest way would be to find and cozy up to a welder that is in need of a helper and get your book that way. I'm not a welder, but I believe they want to carry "their" helper with them wherever they go because they know them and are comfortable with their ability and personality. Much easier if you have somebody vouch for you in this business to get your foot in the door.
I have seen a new and very green helper get "assigned" to a welder on a project in the past ....I felt sorry for that poor bastard. |
