They keep repeating it.

[#1]
How many times did they repeat Skyking?
7/27/2017 12:21:22 PM EDT

Guess you don't have the decode docs.

ETA How are you receiving the message? UHF?
7/27/2017 12:21:34 PM EDT

I haven't heard them call skyking but something called deer run keeps sending messages.

Went there for fun, to see what you're talking about...static.

How often do they transmit?

Do you guys just leave it on in the background or something?
7/27/2017 12:34:39 PM EDT
[#13]
It was repeating twice then silent for 5 minutes then repeat.

Seems to have stopped for now.

"Mainsail over Saudi Arabia" is what she was saying.

7/27/2017 1:43:53 PM EDT
[#20]
Deer run back on 11175

Also Night Watch and Looking Glass are both in the air. Is that normal?

This is from some Internet website so take it FWIW:

...As you can see, before the message they repeat the first six letter readout three times before the message and after the whole message is broadcast, it is also repeated. Messages usually end with mainsail out but this can vary depending on where it is transmitted (ex. Andrews out). Mainsail is the collective callsign for any ground station in the network.

Yeah.  Nightwatch is the National Airborne Ops Center - it goes wherever POTUS goes, so if he's travelling today, it's up.

LOOKING GLASS is the E-6B operated by STRATCOM - used to be up 24/7/365 for airborne nuclear command and control.

When was it broadcasted last? Never mind, brain is still foggy and read it wrong

I remember hearing it last year or so and the lady that was speaking had a Mexican accent and with the static made it somewhat hard to hear everything she was saying.

Sometimes I'll go to WebSDR and just park myself on 8992 or 11175 for hours at a time. There's just something so cool about listening to all these various coded messages going out over HF. It kinda feels like stepping back in time to the days of the Cold War or something. Sitting around listening for messages going out over radio waves just seems so nostalgic, the kind of stuff people did before we had computers and high speed internet in every home.

How wide do you listen? 2.4khz is default

Hit squelch and it'll filter out a lot of the static.

www.websdr.com is apparently blocked and labeled as "suspicious" by the part of the .mil I answer to.  So, anyone else there doing radio watch in a professional capacity (like me), don't try to go to that site on a .mil machine.  Just sayin'.
