When it's discovered, should the government would keep it a secret from the populace for fear of unrest or should the government make the information public right away?
Depends....does it happen before or after religion is scientifically proven to not exist.
If/when it happens, it will depend on the type of life.
Microbial to unintelligent life....most will think it's cool. Aliens visiting us? I think it depends. Overall, I think people will accept it pretty well. |
Depending on what kind of life is found; but most of humanity won't give a shit.
Specifically, what kind of ET life. Where. And how?
That will make a big difference in your hypothetical. Bacteria on some rock? Scientists will be enthusiastic. Certain religious types will deny it (I had a Muslim tell me that life anywhere but earth isn't possible, and if there is, he'll stop being Muslims). Everyone else in the world will not care. |
Switching thread titles after people have begun to respond is disruptive, at the very least.
I think you're trolling. |
I would be pretty fuckin worried about it. Not many good reasons advanced species would be contacting us. I would like to know about it if its happening though. I think the worry would overall be good for gun rights and whatnot. People would arm up in fear of alien invasion. Why do you need an ar 15? because fucking aliens thats why.
Millennials will probably tweet a few deep inspirational messages and then go back to watching dancing with the stars and which celebrity is fucking who, which celebrity comes out as gay trans or whatever.

If you believe we're the most advanced, smartest lifeform in the universe, YOU'RE DUMB.

celebrations in more atheist countries, the Mormons will probably be the least effected of Christianity, third world believers will probably be upset, maybe riot some. Islam will try to blow up the extra haram infidels.

A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow. View Quote |

After almost 7 years here, OP, you just now discovered alcohol tonight.

They won't be able to get through the dome, so don't worry about it.

Argue about whether to give them free healthcare or build a space wall.
Already covered, documentary film done on it, Jason Bateman was involved with the project.
Depends on their impact on humanity.
Their mere existence? No big deal. |
The wall just got 10 miles higher.
And the aliens will pay for it. |
Depends on how the discovery is made. If there are mile long shops above us. Panic
If it's a simple cell, we will still feel superior |
Well, it looks like we found out what will happen when OP discovers recreational drugs.
How many of these are you going to start tonight, OP? |
Lol, do you believe in sasquatch too OP? How about leprechauns?
Meh, it's a big ass universe out there. To think we're the only globs of meat with the ability to create is a little conceited.
Depends.
Do they want to be cool with us and have hot women? Or do they want to conquer, put things in our butts or eat us? Wouldn't really impact anything in my life if we simply discovered the existence of them, provided they weren't a threat. Untold numbers of galaxies with an unfathomable number of solar systems and planets. I would be surprised to find out there is nothing or nobody else out there. |

"East of the Rockies, you're on....."
Doubt any advanced life form is interested in us unless they find us tasty or some resource(s) they want. Now, maybe if someone test flies a warp capable ship..... |

Obviously you're someone troll account, so we'll go ahead and report this, but after that the answer to your questions is, immediately try and fuck it. It's what we do.

I will say, "Probability said this was true."
The question is will they wipe us out or not. |
They will respond with fear and brash decision making with no understanding of these new beings.

The politicians will figure out a way to collect taxes from them before they reveal their existence

Any extraterrestrial life we are likely to discover would probably be fossilized microbes in meteorites, and arguably we may already have.
You mean INTELLIGENT extraterrestrial life? That would probably be discovered in the form of non-randomized radio signals emanating from deep space. So far: nothing. "Wow" signal from 1977 notwithstanding. |

They best keep their green asses off my property.
Also, if there's a big ship hovering in the sky, I'm shooting at that sumbitch. |
