I don't think the left quite understand that if the California wanted to be their own fucked up nation, most of the country wouldn't care.
We'll just extend the wall up Nevada's western border, and along Oregon's southern border. 
Maybe we'll come to free NorCal, and bring the wall's northern border down to just north of Sacramento.
