Yup. Not meaning to be blasphemous, rumor has it that back in the day when it rained for 40 days and nights, we got a 1/4 inch here.

I love the smell of the desert after it rains.

Two 8’ sections, they swing out from the middle.

We've been in a drought for almost two decades.  Some of my neighbor's wells have gone dry.

What I love is immediately before a big thunderstorm. You step outside and it's like you can feel the energy waiting to be released.

Depending on where you stand here, it's 6-8" last night.  Dog was superhappy when we went out.  She was  jumping around because of it.  Took her for a 1 mile walk.

We got 4" on Tuesday on top of the 6" we got on Sat.  The area I shoveled out is fine.

Walked the dog 1 mile today and saw the barncat on the way home.  It fled from the dog and the dog didn't give chase.

Anyway, a publisher has had an early version of manuscript for 5 months and I told him it was done now.  He wanted the updated (finished) one and I sent it earlier this evening,

Walked the dog 1 mile and used the opportunity to throw ashes from the stove onto the icy parts of the road.  Dog was happy to be going out.  She's been indoors for the most part of the day.

Just spent 3 days in SoCal, left the cat in the Arizona house. She was really glad to see me come home.

My brother is in California too, no idea what area other than on or near the coast.

Signed a travelling nurse contract and that's where they sent him. On his downtime, the silly fucker decided at 41 to try to learn how to surf and stepped on a stingray. He's fine, minor injury to his foot and it'll hurt for a while but nothing serious.

Took me forever to get out of the house and then to a nearby town to sign paperwork w/a bank and make a deposit.  Didn't start going north to Springs until past 11:30.  Caught in a construction jam for over 1/2 hr.  It was just like in the SF Bay Area w/slow traffic.  Thankfully  the return trip was clear.

I think my black barncat became dinner for a fox.  There were two foxes (bigger gray/brown and a smaller red one)  after him.  He didn't eat his food yesterday so I think he was eaten.  Today though the food was gone and an orange tabby which seems fat (pregnant?) was seen around the garage.  I hope she sticks around.  I have a heated water bowl as well as a heated pad on a shelf for a cat.
