Lane keeping with cruise control and auto braking. Â I drove a Toyota Camry rental car three weeks ago with this same capability. Â What am I missing? Â It's just level 2 autonomy like a lot of cars have had for several years now.

Nope, not because I wouldn't like one, but I don't like the current Federal subsidies, and the fact that Musk basically exists due to tax credits |

Your rental Camry could steer itself? Quoted:
Your rental Camry could steer itself? When the Radar Cruise Control is activated and the system senses the vehicle deviating from its lane, the system helps the car stay on course near the center of the lane by continuously applying a small amount of counter-steering force. This video from several years ago shows Toyota's technology at the time: ![]() Failed To Load Title Keep in mind, despite Tesla calling it "Autopilot", it's still just level 2 autonomy.  It's not self driving.  You're still expected to actively monitor the state of the vehicle and surroundings, and you're expected to be ready to retake control instantly. |

I like the exterior... but there is NO instrument cluster in front of the driver. Yep. There is no instrument cluster... and no, there is no Head Up Display projected on the windshield.
That just baffles me. I want to have a fucking instrument cluster IN FRONT OF ME. I don't want to have to look at the screen in the middle of the dash to see pertinent information. I don't care if the car CAN fucking drive itself! I also don't like the idea of a touchscreen to run everything. Sure, it's cool, and you can do cool shit with it, but when you're driving and your attention needs to be ON THE FUCKING ROAD, you can't be hunting around on a touch screen looking for the right menu and the right thing... you have to LOOK AT IT to be able to touch the correct place. I've got a first gen Volt, and the center stack is almost all capacitive touch 'buttons'. I don't like it because you have to LOOK AT IT to make sure you touch the right place. Chevy nixed that shit with the Bolt and put some fucking knobs and buttons back in the car. |

LOL! I'd rather take that $97,000 in options and buy a bmw.
Is the base model such a POS that you need $97,000 in options? I can see it now. Base model: $35,000 75 mile range battery: included Options: 200 mile range battery: $75,000 300 mile range battery: $97,000 |

i sure as shit would like to see a source on that $97,000 in options on the model 3 and unless you preordered a year ago you aren't getting one until at least 2019.
I'm guessing like most "entry" level luxury cars 3 series, C-class, A4 you will be able to add about 20,000 to 25,000 in options/trim levels over the base price. |
