Imagine this:
A politician spends 10 years doing everything they can to stop their country from legalizing gay marriage. Despite the majority of their country wanting it approved, they make sure that their party remains opposed and blocks any efforts to pass it.At the same time as they oppose gay marriage, they spend years implementing policies that enrich the economic elites of their country, at the expense of their poorer neighbours, crushing the hopes of millions of working class people and pushing countless people into poverty.And then, imagine that the same politician imposes massive spending cuts to health services, education, infrastructure, pensions, and more on those poorer countries, driving them further into poverty and subservience – all to benefit foreign countries and some of the largest global banks on earth.
