Heres my new upper for my AR. OOPS, I bought a .223 Romanian AK cheaper instead! Hate to say it, but this guns got alot more +'s to it than an AR.

Get them elbows down! It would kinda suck if a bullet that would have zinged right by smokes your arm cuz you had it sticking way out!

Boris,
Does your .223 AK run?
One of my friends bought one, we named it "Bang bang jam"
He tried several different mags, mag tuning, even ordered some Chinese steel mags.
It never worked.
He sold it.
I had a Chinese .223 AK underfolder back in the 1980's. I wish I would have kept that one.

CARBINEBOY,

It's just a plain HK-91 (IB date-code) with PSG1 stuff on it.

No re-barrel or any other PSG1 specific modifications.

Just get an HK-91 and start buying parts when you see them at a good pice and have the cash on hand.

Hope this helps.

Here's what all I have on it:
- HK-91 (IB date code)
- PSG1 stock
- PSG1 trigger-group
- PSG1 pistol-grip
- wide target forearm
- light bipod
- port buffer
- carry handle
- 1200-meter sight
- claw mount w/1” inserts
- paddle magazine release
- Swarovski ZFM 10x42T Scope

Thank goodness that I don't have a digital camera, cuz I would insist on being in the picture with my war gear on.  I would have to put up with all kinds of crap when the wrong people see it.  Sheesh.  Maybe in a few months, and after a few beers......

I don't own a Swedish M96. I do have a Turkish Mauser in 8mm, could that be the one you're asking about? It's about 4 back on the right side.

Treetop,
That's the one.  The Turks and Swedes look very similar.  I've got a Swedish M38.  It's Husqvarna Manuf. 1941.

I don't know about the semis, but I've got two FA - one is a RAMO, the other is a Urich. I love them; they're reliable, easy to maintain, and sturdy as hell.  In fact, other than another Browning beltfed design, I can't think of another gun that can survive the kind of abuse you can put to a 1919.  Caliber changes are quick and easy - .308, 8mm, and 06 - and .308 and 06 barels are pretty cheap.  There's all sorts of accessories available so you can set it up in a variety of configurations - bipods, tripods, pedestal mounts, spade grips, A6 stock, short barrel assemblies, etc.

The biggest downside to owning a Browning is they have a tremendous appetite for ammo... especially in full auto.  You can burn-up a 1000rd case of .308 in just a few minutes if you're not careful.

Shaggy, about durability on a FA weapon, the Maxims we have can shoot allday long, air cooled, not the water cooled ones. The water cooled one has stayd in my friends weapons room, not a shooting weapon, just for collecting.

Yep. The Bren gun is fully functional, no need to start collecting deact weapons because our law here are still reasonable[fingers crossed).
The Bren is a sweet gun to shoot, offhand is not difficult, rate of fire is just right to blaze away all night. The 27.5 is our annual demo of the weapons we have right now, i will post pictures of it when i can. We are getting a G 41K in time for it, oh and the M16A2s should arrive this week or the next week.

Tuukka - Yeah, you may have me there.  I've seen some Maxims & Vickers really lay down some fire.  I've never had the opportunity to crank one up myself, but don't the water cooled do better for sustained fire?

Hey no problem at all man. I might just keep it.. I was in no hurry to sell it.

At least we both know the twisted CA laws just a little bit more... so maybe it wasn't a complete waste of our time.

I'm  sure you'll come accross one at a shop someday. Maybe a gun show (do they still have those in CA? lol)

USN,
It's a shame if it's not a "self propelled" Lawn Mower. It could be a "self propelled lawn howitzer". [:D] Nice rig, what's in the holster or did I miss it?
