I am asking this because I am a longtime Firefox user but it has become unusable, crashing all the time. After a days work it overloaded and ceases to function. I have search online for fixes and most do not seem to work. It is a known problem with few good solutions if any. So what is close to Firefox but not prone to this?

Firefox...never an issue for me.

I usually use three at once for different needs.

Chrome, Firefox, and Pale Moon.

Lynx

6/1/2017 12:51:37 PM EDT
[#6]
Chrome.
6/1/2017 12:52:14 PM EDT
[#7]
Firefox, Safari and Chrome. Depends on what I'm doing.

Chrome, because it syncs between my devices and if I am on my phone or one of my computers, I can pick up where I left off on a different one easily.

[#9]
Chrome mostly, sometimes Edge for the random website that isn't Chrome-friendly.
6/1/2017 1:04:57 PM EDT
[#10]
Firefox mostly, did a stint on pale moon for a while.  Might go back.  IE on standby for websites that break under FF.  I don't trust google in the slightest, chrome will never touch any of my PCs.

I use all three at work.  Chrome is used for some of the more data heavy processes, Firefox is used for mid range stuff and general browsing, Internet Explorer is only used for ancillary stuff.

Chrome
6/1/2017 1:14:10 PM EDT
[#13]
Firefox, Safari, and IE, depending on what I'm doing, what device I am using, and whether I am at home or work.

At home about the only thing I ever do with IE is Arfcom.
6/1/2017 1:14:47 PM EDT
[#14]
Safari on mobile, chrome on desktop.
6/1/2017 1:15:42 PM EDT
[#15]
Brave most of the time, Chrome now and then.

It depends what I'm doing, and what operating system I'm using. Safari most of the time. If I'm doing any web development, the answer is all of them (except IE - I've stopped caring if my stuff works in IE).

I usually end up with Firefox. Like the OP I seem to get a lot of crashes but I think something is up with my system. I can't run the MS Updates either. Sometimes I'll run Chrome.

[#20]
Mozilla Firefox
Portable Edition
6/1/2017 1:49:30 PM EDT

Chrome incognito so I dont have to remember to clear my browser history.

Safari

Mostly Safari with a little Firefox mixed in.

I was uploading some photos to Facebook, and all of a sudden the browser crashed. So I upgraded Firefox to whatever the current one, and it upchucked my ad-blocker and caused some applications that utilize Adobe's Flash to not run. Not a happy camper.

I am currently using Opera as a work-around to Firefox for some applications. I am turn off java script and that stops 80-90% of the ads.

Chrome and Firefox. I've never had any issues.

You may have a virus, adware, malware, bad plugins, etc as that can cause similar issues. I would uninstall, run a virus/adware/malware scanner and then install the latest version.

Chrome, but I'm thinking about trying Epic.  I actually emailed the founder of the company with several questions, and he responded to me directly.  They are all about the privacy.

Firefox/Waterfox does that too.  It will even bring over the add ons.

Waterfox.  It's 64 bit version of firefox.  Updates roll out later than firefox so firefox issues are usually resolved by the time they are ready to release.

I'm a tab whore with firefox and the memory leaks issue is a PITA.  I just kill it once a day or so and restart it.
