What is the space on the right for and what does the vent on the left do?  Not my dash but I have the same space and vent.

It holds my gate card for my front gate. Other than that I have no clue...

It seems like an extra hole in the dash.  Convenient place for misc items, but I'm just wondering if anything actually goes in there as an accessory.

This is what I'm going to do with that hole, one of these days.  It seems this was a factory option when I bough mine, but I'm not sure.

The little bin is usually called a "delete bin" or similar name.  It is used as a feature on vehicles that do not have the option that the hole is for instead of just a closeoff plate.  In one of the pictures above, it appears to be used for aux switches.

In the old days, it would have just been closed off with a blank plate, but most manufacturers have been making these little bins instead of just using a plate to closeoff the hole.

The vent is where cab temp and humidity sensor is.

My 2016 has a 12V plug as pictured in posts above...maybe someone stole yours

I have an FX4 fully loaded. I also have the hole there, didn't know what it was for. Phone doesn't quite fit in there, not really used it for anything. I like the aux switches. My 110v outlet is on the back of the console. Never seen a 110v there, pretty cool.

Do you have the part number for that? I kind of want to order it for my truck. Seems the outlet plate is only part of the items one would need; there may also be an actual inverter mounted under the seat.

The "vent" is an interior temp sensor for auto climate control.

The "bin" is just that, a bin. I don't know of any model having another feature in the passenger side bin, but its trailer tow for me on the driver side. Raptor/Platinum has the void bin on that side even.

This looks promising.  I'm interested myself, as I have the same cubbyhole and could use some upfitter switches.

I put the override switch for my touch screen in there, in the very back. I also use it to store a lens cleaning kit for sunglasses.

That's a great idea.  I have 2 dash cams (Front and Back) that I am hard wiring into the fuse block.  I'd like them to be on when the truck is off and I'm away from the house.  I want them off when the truck is in the garage.  I could just wire the dash cams to the switches and manually turn them on and off.

ETA:  Looks like it's a bit more involved that first seems.  Gotta trim some of the dash support structure to make room for the switch bezel.  hmm...

Without a trailer brake controller there is also a slightly larger bin on the left side.

He made those epic relay panels but used crimp connectors and painter's tape all over the place.

Soldering wires, using shrink tubing, wire loom and friction tape is not that hard.

Never mind, the thread layout is weird on my phone. He did use loom and electrical tape. The pictures are out of order for me.

Were I to do this I think I would just buy the Ford relay panel and wire harness that is paired with these switches from the factory.  Seems much easier.

Yeah, it's weird he made all of that stuff when the majority if not all of Ford's accessories are plug-n-play now. I'm in the process of adding the factory trailer brake controller for a 16' trailer I'm buying.

The prices for the factory switch panels are absurd.  Maybe they've come down lately but they made it worth the effort to build a panel yourself.
