I needed something to ride and kick around with the kids. I have a Mountain bike but I hate it, always hunched over.
Picked up a 24" crusier off Craig's list for $100.
So far, its cost me $4 for a new headset bearing. It's comfortable, it's fun to ride. I can now enjoy riding with the kids.

Your mountain bike doesn't fit you then.

Every mountain bike has the handlebars at about the same height as the seat. Unless you are built like Michelle Obama you're going to be hunched over.
