Detective called today and said they arrested a woman who had our crediti card statement in her possession. Not anyone we know, employ or that knows us. She claimed our daughter Sarah gave it to her (no daughter Sarah). We are pressing charges. Credit statement has no card number, no SS info, just our names and address and info on purchases...pretty sure most statements are like this. Knowing this I froze card...no unknown activity on it, both cards are chipped (Costco visa with pic) so I figure the risk is fraud via use of names to establish new credit.
Would you freeze credit or just do a fraud alert? |
