I'm going through some rough stuff with my dog Zorro having oral melanoma (spread into his nasal cavity where we can't get to it), and I spend most of my day anxiously thinking about him and maybe the 2-3 weeks we have left.

And I see that GD is going through perpetual rounds of purse-swinging on all sorts of issues.

There's one thing that elevates me and gives me catharsis.  Ludwig van Beethoven.

Specifically, the 9th Symphony, 4th movement.

I think GD should just give this a listen.  Read the lyrics.  It's a message we should all embrace.

Beethoven, Symphony 9, 4th movement (complete) Ode to Joy, Presto, Philharmonia Baroque

Sorry about your dag, OP.

In other news, I can't hear or read "Beethoven" without interpreting as BeefOven.

Some years ago when my Best friend Clark the cat died I found comfort in his 3rd symphony. I know what you are going through. I hope it works out OK.

Yes, Eroica is very stirring.  I may play that next.  Thank you.

The late string quartets helped get me through a very dark period in my life.

I prefer other composers but in the spirit of the thread

I like your style. Powerful stuff, man, and I pity people who have never sat and jammed to him and other brilliant classical masters.
