I want squirrel stew and my neighborhood is full of them. What's your best homemade trap for under $20?

I am on phone, and can't up load. Take look at squirrel slingshots on YouTube.

It's not home made, and it's meant for rats...but it's cheap and I don't see any reason it wouldn't work on squirrels.

There's an Amazon link for it in the video description. Check out the other videos on Shawn Woods channel, he restores and tests antique mouse and rat traps.

Ever skin a squirrel or rabit in the summer? I sure you have not, once you get past the fleas and ticks the worms will make you vomit, wait till fall or you will never eat a squirrel again.

I use live traps for raccoons and other critters with success.  I have never caught a squirrel in a live trap though I have tried.  I look forward to other replies for the answer.  The only way I know is to shoot them.

I bet a squirrel would eat right through that trap.

This. Go to your local dollar store and get a few containers of cheap peanut butter. You can post a container on a nail and pop them with a pellet gun as they come to feed off a deck.

I'd try this:

How about the kill bucket?

Fill a 5 gallon bucket about 2/3 full of water. Pour in some birdseed. Set a ramp going up the bucket.

Tree rats try to get the feed and eventually jump in and drown.
