Has anyone handled one at shot or any where else? Is this really a one size fits all holster for a suppressed handgun? I think its really neat and wondering what the price is going to be. I would love to have one for a ruger mark III but I know it isn't going to work but will use it for my glock 19 with suppressor/light combo

I just got one of these today for my S&W victory and it rocks. Too bad my Form 1 can is too big OD to fit, but a lot of commercial cans should.

I don't have a rail on my mk III for the light. I like the way the surefire would break in the front the way that holster looks would be a long draw with a suppressor attached.

Played with one at the NRA show. Draw stroke is goofy as compared to a Safariland rig but in a matter of a few repetitions I had it figured out.

In order to use the On/Off switch on the holster you need to have the compatible X300/X400 lights, which are not the same as any of the X300/X400 lights I currently own. No word on a retrofit kit from Surefire.

However, the active retention will work with the standard X300/X400 lights. So any handgun that has a X300 now has an active retention system holster.

I'm not totally deadset against it, but Id like some sort of a kydex shield to protect the weapon a bit. Curious to see how it holds up as a system with DT/ ECQC type shenanigans.

other than using branded surefire lights as long as your using the type lights its a universal holster?

That's the idea, yes. The only interface is with the light.

ETA: That part does concern me a bit. The plastic dovetail rails on the X300 are not all that beefy. Fine for holding a lightweight light onto the gun, but I suspect they'd break very easily if someone tried to remove the gun from the holster. Or the gun got hung up on a door, branch, wire, etc. The plastic dovetail on the X300 isn't made to take that sort of stress.

How is this different from armadillo concealment other than the fact this looks like it may allow light activation while holstered?

Didn't know about those, but to me looks like retention

The mastefire does not allow light activation while holstered. However, you can rig it to activate the light on the draw, which is kinda nice.

This would be sweet if it could be rigged to word with G Code / RTI.

Anyone who has played with one: any shot?

Surefire has it listed for sale for almost $ 170. Looks to wide for anything but open carry or carry under a wizard's robes.
