Heard on the radio this morning the president had stated he would be honored to have a meeting with Kim to solve this diplomatically...made me think he might be saying  "Last chance ass hole"?

Indeed. We should always be willing to talk,  (except when talking is a delay tactic).

Sadly that's not to far off.

So...

Is Kim coming to the USA or is Trump going to N Korea?

Oh... wait...

Obviously the president wouldn't go there, it would be here ornina neutral country I would think.

Jokes aside they are almost certainly going to China for that

And yes this was a VERY SMART move by Trump

This is what trump does, he puts pressure and then offers to negotiate from a position of power, very wise

Not just that, but if he goes to China to talk to Fatty, the Chinese will be right there to reinforce whatever Trump says about "knock it off of you'll get Ceaucescu-ed."

Any conflict breaking out would innevitably mean the deaths of tens of thousands of South Korean civilians within the first 24 hours.

We forget that NK has had artillery batteries sighted in at Seoul since the ceasefire. And those cannons could be loaded with anything... All it takes is for Kim to send the order to those artillery crews and Seoul would turn into a hellscape of explosions, white phosphorous, and chemical warheads within minutes.

So if Trump can negotiate something to avoid that, good on him.

Really? It would be suicidal for the Norks. They might give us and the S. Koreans a hell of a black eye, but we would obliterate them if they did this. It's like threatening to shoot your only hostage. It gives you leverage...to a point. Pull the trigger and you die too though.

With this capitulation to the Dem's and the RINO's with the budget and other promises that were made to us who voted for him (that have been broken or forgotten about) I am thinking it is just the opposite.

I think Trump is going to end up giving in and giving that cray fuck what he want$.

YMMV.

The vast majority of that artillery does not have the range to hit the city limits of Seoul. Some of it does, but nowhere near even 30% can come close to the downtown area.

Sadly beginning to think this too.  I noticed that as soon as the story was out that the R's caved on the budget he was all talking "Shut it down in Sept." seems kind of like deflecting...he needs to veto this bill when it gets to his desk and hold the R's accountable.  Again this could be my simplistic view of it and I am sure there is more to it than that however, seems to be the base is not very happy right now and this might help.  I heard a caller on Brietbart radio this morning say something along the lines of "You couldn't even get $1 dollar for the wall..." seems to be a good point.

Serious question,

doesn't Seoul have defenses in place already?

Arty,A2A,A2G,for defense?

Aimed north.

Don't WE have a bunch of airbases around,
as well as Mech battalions in south korea...

The DMZ has been a thing for quite some time

Yes, and our Field Artillery is far far more advanced. And yeah our air is the best in the world. Their attack would hurt bad, but we would utterly destroy them for it.  Think, Pearl Harbor, but with less nuke and more MOAB.
