This is sure to start a fight, but then, that's the point. Name a character from fiction who exemplifies a "D&D" alignment. Be sincere, though edge cases are interesting. (Can we make a case for Dexter Morgan as LG?)

Fight amongst yourselves as to the utter stupidity of any nomination as seems fit.

I'll go first with an easy one, IMO. (And just because one character is named does not preclude other examples and arguments as to applicability.)

Superman is the epitome of Lawful Good. He leads by example, and tempers justice with mercy, thus avoiding Lawful Stupid. Superman will always obey the law, unless he believes that the law is evil, in which he might choose to break it. He would probably surrender himself to authorities after doing so, assuming he believed the authorities were basically just. He believes the best way to do the most good is to cooperate with society.

Good iconic example. How about Riddick as a nuanced CE, totally unbound by any sense of community or order, utterly ruthless and vindictive? He has some limits, but not many, and a deep character that makes him something more than Chaotic Stupid.
