For those of you who follow the excellent blog at weaponsman.com, Hognose has died from a massive heart attack. More info on that site. He was a SF 18B. Also looks like the blog won't be up much longer, there is a ton of great info some of you might want to save before the site goes down.

I agree. It was one of the best reads on the internet. I will sorely miss that site.

That's a shame.

I wish his relatives could download the blog and sell it as an e-book or something.

That's actually a really good idea.  I'd buy a copy.

Hopefully his brother can recover the Wordpress password and get access to his blog.

I'm absolutely shocked! One of my favorite blogs.

Prayers for the family.

Hell of a loss to us all. I hope someone can do something to gather up his writing, and preserve it. The man knew his stuff--I was looking forward to buying his book on Czech weapons.

Just met him for the first time a few weeks ago. He was writing a massive book about the history of CZ pistols. Funny, knowledgeable and willing to talk.

RIP

This is a tough one to take.  He was an excellent man and hosted one of the best blogs on the internet.  Felt like I knew him personally just from reading that blog.  RIP Hognose.

I'll ask his brother. I want to say he had 60,000 words written as a part of a multi volume set. He was in the process of purchasing one of each of the CZ pistols ever made, with detailed photos, which is where I finally met him, at our shared dealer.

We traded emails two weeks ago because I had spotted a unique CZ at a local shop. Of course, he already had one...

The firearms community has lost a great resource and person.
