You guys who have gotten LASIK, how did you research a good Dr to get your surgery done? Google reviews?
Also, is there any questions in particular that I should be asking? Anything to look out for? If anybody has any recommendations for a center in Oregon please let me know. |

I'm three and a half hours drive time from Denver but I still chose the Denver outfit that has done thousands and thousands, including John Elway's eyes.
Two years later, my distance vision is still 20/20, the astigmatism(s) are probably 90-95% gone and my Aimpoint and PA Advanced Micro Dots no longer look like wads of chewed bubble gum. |
| I picked the most highly rated one in town. went great had alot of test he ran and machines to test my eyes for something or another. After a few hours of test he was happy enough to tell me everything about my eyes and some kind of waves or another. Scheduled me for the App. (Except the calming meds he gave me I didn't know wouldn't affect me) I was nervous but would gladly do it again no question. |

I had the bladeless LASIK done in 2015. As soon as I was off the table the doc told me to read the clock on the wall and I could, which was amazing to me since my eyesight has been crap since the 6th grade. I had it done at age 39. To this day I keep telling myself I should have had it done earlier.
I was nervous about the surgery especially when you start signing the waivers and reading all the things that can go wrong. I did research and found a reputable doctor here in Houston that has his own practice. Don't use a location that brings in doctors and uses other people's equipment and don't go cheap. I was 20/10 for the first six months but now have settled at 20/20 vision. I did have halos at night and dry eyes for the first few months but now I use eye drops every once in a while when I wake up and that has stopped the dry eyes. |

I had it done at Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, MD. LASIK with laser cut flap.
My eyes were very sensitive after the procedure. I think it was from the doctor having a hard time getting my eyeballs into the suction cup thing and not the actual laser. I could see a clock clearly, but it was very hazy. After a couple of hours, the haziness went away and I was seeing 20/20. It's been over 10 years and my vision has slowly been regressing. I wear glasses and contacts again. Touch-ups are only up to two years, not lifetime. |
