Picked up a fresh pineapple at the store. A bit of work getting that sucker ready to eat but it sure is good. Who else likes a good pineapple?

I've got one on the counter waiting to be chopped up. Fresh tastes so much better than canned.

Yep.
Fresh is really the only way I eat pineapple.
And once you get the hang of it you can prep one very quickly.

I get 2 every week from Costco. I've gotten pretty fast at chopping it up and it makes a delicious snack during the week.

I love fresh, and when I get a good buy on them, I'll slice a couple up, stick them in the dehydrator then pack them up around 4 oz then run them through the food saver and toss them in the freezer for snacks.

I love pineapples also. I get like a canker sore on my tongue when I eat a whole lot of it though. I need one of those fancy peeler/cover things like in the link a few above so I don't lose a finger slicing and dicing them since I have yet to find an easy way to do it with the mediocre walmart kitchen knines I use.

Buy a better knife? Use an old butcher knife that I found somewhere or another. Try to keep it sharp but it is fairly trashy metal. Does just fine with pineapple. This pineapple is supposed to help keep you from developing that canker sore, too.

Or muddle 1tsp red pepper flakes and 3tsp kosher salt together, dip pineapple in that.

Love it, but I'm in the canker sore camp. I highly recommend dried pineapple as well, no canker sores and great in a trail mix. My neighbor grows and sells it so I get free samples when I ride my bike out that way.

the supermarket "fresh" pineapple does not even get near fresh in Hawaii.....totally different...even better soaked in Rum.

Place I worked at would spit roast them whole with the skin and baste with orange juice.

When it was done slice it thin on a slicer, a fresh slice of pound cake and vanilla ice cream.

Pretty amazing
