I can get a new FNS-40 for $318 out the door. Is that "good, bad, or indifferent"? This is the all black one. I saw that Palmetto State had them for $320 plus shipping and whatever your FFL charged, a year ago.

That's a really good price for a new FNS-40. If you want one, get it. They are good guns and are very accurate (at least for me).
Since it's a .40, most people here will probably tell you to pass and buy a Glock 19.

I wouldn't pick one up. In 9 yes, but not 40. My FNP-40 shoots rougher (problem free otherwise) than my XDS45 and M&P45.
