Why is my TV now turning itself on every 12 hours?
I can find no settings, either in Roku or on my TV, a Vizio, that would turn it on. Had the TV hooked up through TWC/Spectrum for years, never turned itself on. All advice appreciated. Make the voices stop!!!! |

Sounds like it might be CEC (the ability for devices to talk via HDMI).
Check the settings on your Roku and turn CEC off if you see it, also on the TV, and on your stereo receiver if its hooked up via HDMI. CEC can be great at times or just cause a great big clusterfluke. Trade names for CEC FYI |

I have a Roku2 and have never seen this.
I do keep having issues with channels asking me to sign in when I'm already signed in. My Starz channel keeps fucking up as well. It will show all shows as "locked" then if I reenter the channel it crashes and goes back to the home screen. 10 minutes later it randomly works.

Or when a firmware update causes it to turn back on, unleashing chaos. Any feature that is supposed to "help" is more likely to cause problems then anything else. |

Its possible that is enabled either on the TV or devices connected to the TV causing the TV to turn on. If the TV is turning on exactly every 12 hours then its possible there is a setting within the TV menu options to turn on based on an alarm setting. On the Roku (at least on my Roku XS) there is the following option: Settings > System > Control other devices > 1 Touch Play. It indicates: "Tell your TV to automatically switch its active source/input to your Roku player on any remote key press." |
Never again.
