Sold a couple of watches I never wore in the $200-300 range.

Sold a pistol I never shot.

Then watched watchrecon like a hawk for a 2254.50 for weeks to snag a deal (most pre owned go for $1400-2400 depending on how proud they are of it).

One of the big omega sellers on WUS had this guy pop up for a song with all the stuff and service history, but in titanium. It was a no brainer.

Take things worth money not being used and get something I can use everyday.

Dude get a classic sword hands model.

Case profile and 1120 movement is awesome and fitting for the collection.

1976 Speedmaster moon watch. 100% original, have the bracelet too. I love the watch, great character and works with every outing.

Of the people who have owned both, or are familiar with them, is the Rolex really worth 2-3 times the omega? I like the SS submariner, but at 7-8 k, seems to pricey for a retirement gift yo myself. I like the waterproof omega dive watches, and the price. Is it snob appeal? Or is there a real difference? I've looked at both, and the rational side  of me says "get a victorionox, 2 18 year old hookers, and an eight ball and call it even.

I would love an Omega, but I can't justify the cost. I really love my Seiko SKX 007. It's held up quite well, and I'll probably spring for an Omega when it finally dies. I anticipate that will be a long time from now.

I like subs a lot - really like the no date models. That said in a sport / dive watch the Omega called my name more as I LOVE the sword hands.

My #2 grail is a 39mm Explorer which I'll have one day.

For what it's worth I passed over a early 2000's sub for the Seamaster.

The ones on WUS have been selling for $1700-2k over the past few months I've been looking at them.

Exelonman on WUS is great to deal with on omegas.

For example a recent one he had. Usually puts 1-2 up every week.

Thanks, I love the vintage aspect of it. The vintage Speedmaster market has been pretty hot the past few years. Mine is Apollo-Soyuz era, not as desirable as Apollo moon mission years 69-72 as you would imagine, but still very cool. The moon era ask for a 50-100% premium, and the really early versions like pre '69 are even more expensive. Ive seen some '65s for sale for $15k.
