which weapon light?
mount? lumens? for a LaRue 7.0 (picatinny), what rail mounted light setup do you suggest? some seem to prefer lower lumens to avoid blinding themselves indoors (sub 300?), yet others like the throw you get from a higher lumen setup (500+?)...just curious to hear some of y'all's opinions as i consider adding one to my AR, it will be a dedicated light that stays on there all the time if i get one, i have a Quark Turbo, i guess i could mount it, but it's kinda heavy & at 800 lumens seems like overkill...seems to be 1" is the standard, but aren't there some lights/mounts that are smaller? i would think a AA powered rig would be plenty for a AR weapon light... |

For a general purpose, home defense rifle, I really like the Inforce WML. Get the non-strobe version. Less than $100, reliable, simple, integral mount. It's not the brightest or anything, but for indoors use it's great.
However, the earlier ones were pretty fragile. I broke one somehow before I ever even used it. I think they've got the plastic worked out now, though. Black is stronger than tan. Get the black one. And ditch the quad rail. Those things are super heavy. |

I have a really old one that I beat to crap on deployment still works fine, I have a newer one thats beat to crap and no issues, but yeah I had one from that bad time frame that the front fell off with minimal use. Favorite light by far. The newer models are plenty bright. |
